There was once this South African man I met on a cruise many years back that I had relations with. I found his accent intoxicating, and his tall dark physique so mysterious it just pulled me in. To this day I can still recall exactly the way he pronounced some words, such as "Really" and it makes me smile to think something so simple, could make me so smitten.
I was always a sucker for words, and today browsing through an old journal I had in my car I read the poem he wrote for me while we were on the cruise...
Upon your life lies the grace
Of a brass bed with silver lace
Love and passion drew us together
Time kept us apart
Suns will rise, and suns will set
Never will I forget the moment we met
You're the queen who broke my loneliness
The lady whom showed me happiness
So why do we go to the cityplace
Instead of dining on silver lace
When all I want to do
Is be alone with you...
~Jaco
To this day it still makes me smile to think of this memory.
Simple love, simple hearts, and a simple accent that drove me wild...

heart a'flutter
So with 16 days to go, my heart is fluttering.
My vows are finalized, the dress is altered, flowers picked, favors done, food ordered, bills paid...
I just can't believe that in 2 weeks and 2 days, I will be Mrs. Emily Cudmore ready to handle the world with my husband.
This weekend I am having my bachelorette party at the Liberty Hotel in Boston. I picked out a white dress to wear and sparkly silver shoes. We have reservations at the Beehive. Then will be attending Jacques Caberet and headed out somewhere to go dancing. I'm excited to spend some time with the girls and my sister... I believe my cousin, Jennabean will be coming from New York too.
Life is good. I am happy. I need to remember how blessed I am.
